Year 5 Homework 15th September 2017
At the beginning of the school year, I feel that I should inform you of the routines and expectations we have for homework in Year 5.
Maths and English will be given out on Friday for handing in on the following Wednesday.
Reading Record Books should be brought into school every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for me to check that regular home reading is being enjoyed.
Spellings – The children will have a spelling test on Friday, of five words from the Year 5/6 National Curriculum word list (see Reading Record Books). This week the words are: accommodate, accompany, according, achieve, aggressive. Please write a sentence using each word into English homework books to show your understanding of the meaning of each word.
Handwriting – Please see the sheet, to be completed and glued into English homework books.
Maths: WALT – Find the value of digits in large numbers. This week we have worked on place value. Please complete the work on the sheet and glue into Maths books.
Last week, I gave out an Egyptian topic homework task sheet that can be worked on over the next few weeks and any work brought into class when it is ready.
I hope that you find this letter useful and informative, but please get in touch with me if I can be of help. Also, please remember that the after-school Homework Club will shortly take place again on each Friday 3-4pm.
A reminder that PE kits are needed in school on a Monday and Tuesday.
