Dear Parents / Carers
Following the publication of Year 6 test results, we are very pleased to be able to tell you that, for the 5th consecutive year, the children of St Alban’s have exceeded the national averages for Year 6 in the overall percentage for combined Reading, Writing and Mathematics. Individual subject scores are also higher in all areas. 68% of our Year 6 achieved the new Expected Standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics whilst nationally the figure was 61%.
|PROVISIONAL RESULTS||ST ALBAN’S||NATIONAL||We are:|
|Expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths||68%||61%||7% higher|
|Expected standard in Reading||77%||71%||6% higher|
|Expected standard in Writing||77%||76%||1% higher|
|Expected standard in Mathematics||86%||75%||11% higher|
|Expected standard in Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling||91%||77%||14% higher|
We are very proud of every child and can confidently say that they all did their very best. It is good to be able to say that the hard work of our children and staff and, of course, your own work in supporting them at home over the years has been rewarded with these excellent results.
Whilst progress scores are not yet available we know that these will be very good and will reflect the fantastic progress children have made through their years in St Alban’s school.
WELL DONE TO ALL OUR CHILDREN AND ALL THE STAFF WHO HAVE WORKED WITH THEM OVER THE YEARS – WE ARE VERY PLEASED THAT THEY HAVE DONE SO WELL!
Good luck to our Year 6 in their new schools. Enjoy your holiday with your families and, for those coming back to us in September, we re-open to children on Wednesday 6th September.
