Early Years Tapestry

TAPESTRY IN THE EARLY YEARS

Tapestry is an easy-to-use online learning journal, Tapestry helps educators and parents to record, track and celebrate children’s progress in early years education.

Text, images and videos can be easily uploaded via PC, tablet or our mobile app – anywhere there’s an online connection. Every entry helps to create a complete story of a child’s time at nursery, pre-school or school.

St. Alban’s Early Years have been using Tapestry since October 2015.  Each child in the setting has their own individual Learning Journey that parents can access and contribute to with a unique I.D. and password (once they have signed and returned a Tapestry Use Policy).

Observations can be tagged with EYFS and characteristics of effective learning statements which can be used to assess and monitor children’s progress. Tapestry can provide data for summative assessments, thoroughness checks, next steps and more.

Since beginning to use Tapestry, a consultation with parents has produced positive feedback and evidence that Parents find Tapestry:

  • easy to use
  • informative of their children’s learning and development
  • an enjoyable insight into their school life.

Parents are also able and beginning to upload their own photographs and videos, as well as comment on observations added from school.
