The importance of good attendance

Attending school in England is compulsory for all children from the age of 5.  Attendance is closely monitored and all absences must be explained.  We ask parents to contact us on the first day of any absence and encourage a swift return after absence.  After vomiting or diarrhoea  we ask that children are kept home for 48 hours in an attempt to reduce spreading the illness.

Holidays during term time are not allowed unless circumstances are exceptional.  In all cases a written request must be submitted.  Children in Year 6 take national tests during May each year so holidays should never be booked during May as the tests cannot be re-scheduled.
